Osteopathy is a manual therapy that approaches the body as a whole. I don’t just treat the area where you feel pain: I look for the real origin of the problem in order to offer a lasting solution.

At my practice in Alpedrete I work with three branches of osteopathy: structural (muscles, joints and bones), visceral (internal organs and their relationship with the musculoskeletal system) and cranio-sacral (central nervous system, cranial membranes and sacrum). This all-round view allows me to treat a wide variety of complaints at their root.

Every session starts with a full assessment: I observe your posture, assess your mobility and listen to your medical history. From there, I design a personalised treatment combining the techniques best suited to your case. The manipulations are gentle and respectful of your body.

Frequently asked questions

Does osteopathy hurt?

The techniques I use are gentle and respectful of your body. You may feel some pressure in areas with a lot of tension, but it should never be unbearable pain. I always work within your comfort threshold.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on each case. For acute problems such as muscle knots or lower back pain, many patients notice an improvement from the first session and they are resolved in 2-3 sessions. Chronic problems usually need between 4 and 6 sessions.

Is it compatible with other treatments?

Yes, osteopathy is complementary to physiotherapy, conventional medicine and other therapies. If you are following another treatment, let me know so we can coordinate the approach.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

No, you can come directly without a referral. In the first session I will carry out a full assessment to make sure osteopathy is suitable for your case.
